I started 'Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood, by @therealsjmaas' nearly a month ago and, it took a while until I was completely hooked and couldn't stop myself from reading.
While I was reading the book, the plot kept getting better and better, making me not be able to put the book down.
In the beginning, I thought I was expecting Bryce and Hunt to get together and, that was it, but I didn't expect that I needed more, not from the relationship but from what was truly happening in the story. There were so many times when I thought I had everything figured out, and, when my theories were completely shattered, all I could think was that I needed to know more.
And at some point I actually believed some of the things that were "revealed" but they actually never crossed my mind.
I loved Danika and Bryce's friendship, but at some point, I felt the need to slap Bryce so she could stop being so dam depressed!
There are so many different things happening at the same time that I didn't even have time to think. And I knew I needed to keep my journal with me so I could write down all the important things –mostly since I always take a serious amount of time until I usually read the next book and don't remember a single thing.
But the end, oh that end that made me cry like a baby...
Btw, there were so many plot twists! It was insane how much information we got at once.
I still have some questions for certain characters, just like Jesiba and Aidas, but those questions will have to wait till the next book because that Epilogue just made me want to know what do they exactly know?
I kinda regret not reading this book sooner –I always say this but it's true! My father read it before me and said it was amazing and utterly worth it, we both agree that it took some time to hook us, but it was worth the wait. Btw, when is the next book coming out?
This book, was, without a doubt the best book I've read in 2020 and so I had to give it a massive 5 out of 5 stars! ★
