All I can remember from the first time I heard people talking about this book was that they loved it, which was a definite sign that I had to read it –I do think at the time I knew what the book was about which was was what drew me to it, I mean, magic and time-travelling.
This month I've decided to join the O. W. L. s Magical Readathon and one of the prompts was 'History of Magic: Read a book that has witches or wizards' and this book fitted this class perfectly. I mean, the title says it all.
Once I started reading this book I couldn't stop reading, I was so consumed by it that all I wanted to do was continue reading. I took my time to read it and I also took a little break from reading in general.
I don't understand how it took me so long to even pick up this book because it was A-MAZING! I have no words to describe how this book made me feel. You can tell this is the first book of a series of books –and the author recently announced that there was going to be a fourth book–, since it explains you all kinda things but, at the same time, so many things are happening that you get trapped in the story.
I wasn't expecting so many secrets to be revealed in the first book, and some I expected –once things began to reveal itself–, and others were quite a shock. I love how Esta and Harte get to know each other, and they're personalities just contrast each other so well that I just love them together.
But then, liars do make the best magicians, and he happened to be exceptional.
And I loved how every character was so unique. The fact that the book was written in the third person was the best! You get to know what everyone is thinking and what is happening at all times.
I literally can't wait to read the next book so I think I'll read the next book on my kindle because I can't wait to know what's going to happen next.
I suppose that that tells you how much I enjoyed the book, and I had to give it 5 stars out of 5 stars! ★
